Accreditation: FMCT

Membership: Resolution

I worked within the Magistrates’ Court system for 14 years, qualifying as a Solicitor and taking on the role of Legal Advisor to the Justices in the criminal and family divisions and also dealing with emergency child protection applications.

For 8 years I worked in contentious civil litigation often using mediation to resolve disputes.

Why did you want to become a family mediator?
Having worked in the family court judiciary for many years I have seen that the Court process can be protracted, expensive and can negatively affect families emotionally and financially. Mediation is the way forward to achieving better outcomes for families and I wanted to be a part of that.
What do you like most about Family mediation?
I like working with people, seeing how they communicate (or not!), and trying to help them reach solutions tailor made to their family's individual needs. It is challenging but hugely rewarding.
What is the most difficult mediation situation you have dealt with?
If children are involved the mediation is usually more emotionally charged and trying to help parents remain child focused rather than putting their own wants and needs first can be difficult.
What do you enjoy most about working with Mediate UK?
Mediate UK provides a really supportive environment for mediators. Everyone is helpful, friendly, and genuinely want their colleagues to provide the very best service to clients.
Five facts about me:
1. I am a runner and a yogi
2. I like to drink beer from a wine glass
3. I love 1980's hip hop
4. My lockdown project was to stop dyeing my hair. I am now grey
5. I am a certified Mental Health First Aider

Read our reviews on Reigate Mediation

It was a really good experience, I felt supported and received the guidance I needed! Very thankful.

This service was invaluable and helped provide long-term solutions, such as the parenting plan. We were able to agree matters between ourselves and reflect on them with our mediator. Although difficult at times, the process on a whole was amicable.

Yes the service was wonderful. Everyone I came into contact with was so helpful from the mediator to the lady who took my initial call.
