Our Bromley Mediators

Mitchell Robertson

Mitchell Robertson Mediator

Accreditation: WTA

Membership: College of Mediators

Background: Mitchell comes from a financial background where he was always the middleman helping two parties to come together and reach a negotiated agreement, first as a derivatives broker then as a business analyst with a software provider. Both roles required Mitchell to effectively bring two parties together with different interests and resources to find common ground and reach agreement.

Why did you want to become a family mediator?
Having experienced divorce myself I realised during the mediation sessions how empowering and productive the process can be in resolving tense separations or divorces and I decided that I wanted to retrain and use my skillset as a middleman in order to promote and provide mediation services to others and to help them avoid lengthy and expensive court processes.
What do you like most about Family mediation?
My favourite thing about mediation is that each case and every client has their own story to tell. While sometimes these can be difficult and thinking on your feet is vital it is a privilege to be able to help people through these difficult situations. It is both challenging and rewarding in equal measure
What has been your most difficult mediation session?
I had a client suffering from schizophrenia who had to be accompanied by a family member and found the process quite challenging, but also very rewarding being able to work through that and find a way to help someone who has their own personal challenges.
What do you enjoy most about working with Medaite UK?
Mediate UK is extremely supportive of its mediators, everyone is always happy to share experiences which enables you to help clients with a huge variety of issues requiring resolution and provide the best possible service.
Five facts about me:
1. I love cycling.
2. I only wear stripey socks.
3. In a previous job, I wore multi-coloured trading jackets which always clashed with the socks.
4. I've had guitars for over thirty years but can't play a note.
5. Years ago, I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down!

Read our reviews

Professional and friendly. Knowledgeable and practical. I would readily recommend this service.

Exactly what I required, very professional, felt at ease. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Mediator was personable, knowledgable and professional. Also the ‘tech’ worked which is not always the case but really important when clients are under a lot of pressure and stress.
